Hand Grinders Groat Rollers

Grain Mills Order Form - pdf
Grain Mills Order Form - excel sheet

This is the hand grinder that I like the best for the price.
(For more information go to grainmill.com)

It is made by Family Grain Mill. It is easy to use---Women and children will be able to mill enough flour to make 4 loaves of bread easily. I really like the fact that onto the same hand base unit that you get with the grinder, you can attach several different machines.

The Groat Roller is an excellent idea as it allows you to store whole oat groats (which store 15-20 years vs. the 2-3 years on rolled oats) and roll your own, very fresh oatmeal when you are ready. Those who have tried this have been amazed at the difference in taste and quality! Best of all, the nutritional level is so much higher, as nutrients start escaping into the air the moment a grain is opened. So, 2 year old oatmeal has lost a lot of it's nutritional value. Other soft grains can also be rolled. (Tip of the day: Steaming these grains first, makes an even better flake!)

Also available is a Slicer/Shredder (food processor) attachment and a Meat Grinde. The other advantage of this grinder is that you can purchase an Adapter that will hook the grinder into your Bosch or Kitchenaid, thus allowing you to use power while you have it.

A word of caution: A hand grinder on a powered machine, is not a good substitute for an electric grinder. The way a hand grinder operates is very different from the way an electric grinder works. The electric grinder will give you a much higher quality flour---especially for weekly usage. A hand grinder is a good substitute when there is no power!

Having said that, the reason I bought the adapter is that I can now use the oat groat roller, not available in an electric version, with my Bosch while I have power. The same applies for the food processor and meat grinder.

I have not tried the food processor and meat grinder as they are not available in the stores here. I look forward to trying these new products, too!

FYI: I am a dealer for Bosch and Nutrimill. Please call me for current pricing on any of these items including attachments for the Bosch. 801-763-5493
